Greenback is a successful program that we started at GES a few years ago. Basically we are choosing to make a onetime a year donation to GES PTA instead of door to door fundraising. The GES community and neighborhoods are very small, so when we sell cookie dough, popcorn, magazines, pizza or any other fundraiser we tend to be fundraising to the same small community around GES. The parents end up buying the majority of the product and the school only gets to get 40-50% of the proceeds. So, we introduced the Greenback program. We all make the effortless onetime payment a year and do not have to hassle with a fundraiser. Our goal is that each of our students are represented by a greenback donation to generate over $14,000 for the PTA budget.
